This scholarship was established by the Mayor Harold Washington Legacy Committee, a non-profit organization committed to preserving the legacy of Chicago's first Black mayor, Harold Washington. Roosevelt is grateful for the Committee's work and for partnering with us on this effort. To learn more about the Committee and upcoming events, visit their website.

Today, Roosevelt continues to seek and serve diverse, promising students from around the world. We value differences in personal experiences and celebrate diversity in race, ethnicity, religion, economic status, gender, sexuality and age. Roosevelt has fortified our dedication to our democratic ideals through learning that transcends the classroom.
