Join us as for a conversation on empowerment to effect change with Karina Ayala-Bermejo, President & CEO of Instituto del Progreso Latino. Karina will speak to her work actively utilizing her talents to address the migrant crisis in the city, highlighting the idea that every single one of us can make a difference.
The luncheon will take place on Thursday, December 5, 2024 at 11 a.m. with a networking reception, to be followed by lunch and the program from 12 - 1 p.m. at the University Club of Chicago (76 E Monroe St). The presentation of the Roosevelt University Alumna of Influence 2024 award will also be presented.

Karina Ayala-Bermejo is currently the CEO & President of Instituto del Progreso Latino (“Instituto”) a position she’s held for the past 4.5 years. Instituto’s mission is to contribute to the fullest development of Latino immigrants and their families through education, training, and employment that fosters full participation in the changing US society while preserving cultural identity and dignity. She oversees the management of all aspects of Instituto with an operating budget of nearly $20 million, two charter high schools, Instituto College of Nursing and over 200+ employees while also maintaining external relationships including national, regional and local leaders. Previously, she served as General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Metropolitan Family Services (MFS) one of the oldest non-profits in Illinois. She is a recognized leader, keynote speaker, moderator and frequently interviewed on television including appearances on ABC, NBC, Telemundo, Univision and Chicago Tonight.
