Join the Chicago College of Performing Arts on March 17 and March 18, on Roosevelt's O'Malley Theatre, for "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Finale" a new pastiche opera collaboratively created by the college's opera and composition students.

Using familiar music from opera and musical theatre, as well as new compositions, eight young people explore what their lives might look like if they refused to conform to the expectations of others. Whether or not they end up "happy" by the final scene depends entirely on whether they've reached an arrival point in their journey of self-actualization. And if they haven't? Life goes on after the opera is over.

Advanced reservations are highly recommended. A suggested donation of $10 per person will help support future Chicago College of Performing Arts programs.
