The Basics of Individual Tax Preparation

In this 60-minute webinar, Dr. Knutsen will cover the basic components of a 1040, U.S. Individual Income Tax Return.  Topics discussed will include, income items, adjustments to income, itemized deductions vs. the standard deduction, calculating your tax liability and, determining your balance due or refund amount.

Dr. Knutsen is an Assistant Teaching Professor of Accounting in the Heller College of Business.  Prior to working in academia his career spanned both private and public accounting firms with positions held including Controller and Chief Financial Officer.  His professional accounting certifications are Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA), and Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
