Distinguished Alumni Awardee

The Distinguished Alumni Award is bestowed to an outstanding alumnus/a of Robert Morris University Illinois and is the highest alumni honor recognized by Roosevelt University. The award salutes the achievements of alumni whose professional accomplishments and community service exemplify Roosevelt’s social justice mission. Distinct preference is given to one whose achievements have a significant impact on their field and the community at large.

Mr. Kevin Bueso earned a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration-Accounting and a Masters Degree in Accounting from Roosevelt University in 2007 and 2009, respectively. Mr. Bueso currently serves as the Chief Financial Officer at McHenry County, where he oversees a budget of over $200 million and manages the areas of financial reporting and analysis, budgeting, accounts payable, payroll, grant accounting, and purchasing.  
 
In the past, Mr. Bueso has served as the Director of Finance at the Village of Round Lake Beach, Assistant Finance Director at the City of Waukegan, Finance Assistant at the Village of Gurnee. Mr. Bueso has extensive experience in the areas of budgeting, financial planning and analysis, Information Technology management, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, forecasting, treasury management, and policy implementation. Other areas of expertise include local licensing, and local tax policy implementation. 
 
Additionally, Mr. Bueso has volunteered for organizations such as the Waukegan Public Library, the Center for Economic Progress, APUFRAM International, and the Healthcare Foundation of Northern Lake County. Mr. Bueso currently serves as a member of the North Chicago School District 187 Financial Oversight Panel (appointed by the Illinois State Board of Education).
